Magneto?plasmonic heterodimers: Evaluation of different synthesis approaches

Nanomedicine has gained huge attention in recent years with new approaches medical diagnosis and therapy. Particular consideration been devoted to the nanoparticles (NPs) theranostic field specific interest for magnetic gold NPs (MNPs GNPs) due their peculiar properties under exposition electromagnetic fields. In this paper, we aim develop magneto-plasmonic heterodimer by combining MNPs GNPs through a facile reproducible synthesis investigate influence of different parameters on response optical stimuli. particular, various syntheses were performed changing functionalization step using or not reducing agent obtain stable NP suspensions tailored properties. The obtained heterodimers characterized physical, chemical, optical, analysis, order evaluate size, shape, plasmonic properties, superparamagnetic behavior. results revealed that shape dimensions nanocomposites can be tuned surface functionalization, as well use agent, giving rise nanoplatform suitable biomedical application, exploiting absorbing peak range GNPs, while maintaining behavior typical MNPs. proposed potential candidates cancer theranostics.
